2bfb580415 Fix non-PCH build by adding an explicit include.
This used to build so the include of CStr.h disappeared from the include
chain at some point. PCH builds kept working because this file is
included in precompiled.h for the engine project.

7fda43d14e Expose the same file listing function to JS GUI, simulation and rmgen, refs #4868.
Removes the workaround and limitations of globalscripts Resources
(52f311da2b) and loadCivFiles (89055ef858), allowing them to actually
become actually global.
Rename to ListDirectoryFiles as proposed by wraitii.

0cfe9ab153 Expose the same ReadJSONFile function to simulation, GUI and rmgen.
This way globalscripts/ can use the same code in all contexts, all paths
are absolute and only one function name is needed.
Remove ReadCivJSONFile which is redundant with this function as well.
Restrict read access of rmgen/ to rmgen/ and simulation/, refs
4275a8a33c, 89055ef858.

9f0484e5ce Delete unused SpiderMonkey GarbageCollection ScriptFunctions ForceGC in the AI and GUI context (e9e05f4efc) and MaybeGC in the random mapgen context (942a45372c).
Optimizing the memory footprint requires likely different functions
following the new SM versions and a lot of testing,
so having these doesn't lower the effort to achieve optimization while
confusing the reader.

4275a8a33c Unify two rmgen and GUI JSON file loading script functions, refs #4868.
Revert the introduction of the exact copies of FileExists ReadJSONFile
functions in MapGenerator.cpp introduced by 871ed04521.
Include JSInterface_VFS.cpp from MapGenerator.cpp to remove that code
while gaining the other missing VFS file loading functions in rmgen/.
Split RegisterScriptFunctions of JSInterface_VFS.cpp from eb4e66aab3
into RegisterReadOnlyScriptFunctions and RegisterWriteScriptFunctions to
prevent unintentional write access.

e7ab22286e Fix the replay menu for people with non-latin characters in their username.
Use OsPath instead of CStr and CStrW where possible,
wstring_from_utf8(OsPath.string8()) to pass printable strings to the
JSAPI,
OsString when opening a filestream and
off_t instead of int for filesizes.

20b4e039be Fix fileendings of files with mixed fileendings in the public mod (except art, l10n) and in source/ (except for source/third_party/).
Thus fix lineendings in files that were missed in bcbf25bfbd, as
reported by Imarok.

(SVN throws an error when trying to set the native filending property on
a file with mixed fileendings. However when recursing it hides this
error).

1a66f510d0 Use const T& for parameters of some types in script-exposed native functions
Using references matches the C++ coding style better and should improve
performance a bit in theory. It avoids 2 copies of T in case of the
functions registered with RegisterFunction (mainy used in the GUI). It
should also avoid one or two copies in case of
DEFINE_INTERFACE_METHOD_X, which is used in the simulation, but I
haven't bothered to count it there exactly.
It is now predefined which types have to be passed by const reference
and which are passed by value. Note that references can't be used as
out-parameters (to return multiple values to JS). This hasn't worked
before either and probably never will.

Hides the summary-button in the replaymenu in case the summary wasn't
saved.
Corrects the timestamp for incompatible replays.
Remove unused UNUSED from header files.
Use string8() instead of OsString().
Mention a reported compiler warning.
Use const& instead of a copy in StartVisualReplay().

7de746cc58 Visual replay code cleanup. Refs #3440.
Moves StartVisualReplay() from JSInterface_VisualReplay.cpp to
VisualReplay.cpp, so that the former doesn't define any logic.
Uses replayFile.string8() instead of
utf8_from_wstring(replayFile.string()).
SAFE_DELETE instead of delete.
Fixes a compiler warning in getReplayDuration().

c02a7e1a7b SpiderMonkey 31 upgrade
This upgrade also introduces exact stack rooting (see to the wiki:
JSRootingGuide) and fixes problems with moving GC. This allows us to
enable generational garbage collection (GGC).
Measurements a few months ago have shown a performance improvement of a
non-visual replay of around 13.5%. This probably varies quite a bit, but
it should be somewhere between 5-20%. Memory usage has also been
improved. Check the forum thread for details.

Thanks to everyone from the team who helped with this directly or
indirectly (review, finding and fixing issues, the required C++11
upgrade, the new autobuilder etc.)! Also thanks to the SpiderMonkey
developers who helped on the #jsapi channel or elsewhere!

52f4cda439 Changes ToJSVal to take JS::MutableHandleValue instead of JS::Value&.
JS::MutableHandleValue is similar to JS::HandleValue, but the whole
JS::Value it points to can be replaced.
This change is needed for support of exact stack rooting and moving GC.
Contains a few other trivial API adjustments and style improvements too.

e9e05f4efc Second (main) commit for the SpiderMonkey upgrade.
This commit contains all the required changes to our source files and
build scripts (hopefully).
A next commit will remove the old stuff of SpiderMonkey 1.8.5.

4b1297b328 Removes g_ScriptingHost and implements global to compartment 1 to 1 relation.
Each GUI Page gets its own compartment and all ScriptInterfaces in the
same thread should now use the same JS Runtime.
This is required for the SpiderMonkey upgrade.

5e23445339 Make ConfigDB properly thread-safe.
Replace CreateValue with SetValueString so we don't pass pointers to
internal
 ConfigDB structures around. Refs #1810.

93cffe9deb Remove the old and no longer used archive builder that rebuilt the archive while the game is running.
This approach isn't used anymore. Now we start the archive building with
parameters to pyrogeneis.

20ed5b118c Unify script conversions and remove JSInterface_Vector3D.
Because it was historically grown, we have some duplicated code for
converting script types to native types.
This patch removes the file JSConversions.cpp and moves some code to
ScriptConversions.cpp.
The places using JSConversions.cpp are changed to use the
ScriptInterface's conversion functions in ScriptConversions.cpp.
I also removed JSInterface_Vector3D because it had additional
requirements to the conversion code that no other code has and because
it's currently not used. I think it doesn't make sense to maintain code
just because it could possibly be used again later.

34186dd017 refactor file interface. requires workspace update
- separate file_system_util into vfs functions (-> vfs/vfs_util) and
file_system (avoids ugly fs_util namespace prefix)
- get rid of non-portable O_BINARY_NP etc. flags
- use standard O_WRONLY etc. flags instead of LIO_WRITE; but avoid the
need for specifying O_CREAT|O_TRUNC
- only open files for aio when O_DIRECT is specified (which 0ad does
not) - avoids wasting time and security issues
- return file descriptor directly instead of via output param
- waio: safer FCB mechanism that avoids mixing descriptors between lowio
and aio

- use wrapper class instead of std::wstring (reduces mixing of

case-insensitive comparison via operator==, avoids NativePathFromString,
similar to boost::filesystem)

1c7e33b528 Remove a load of implicit CStr type conversions, since they're error-prone and can cause silent data loss.
Handle most CStr8/CStrW conversions via UTF-8 instead of effectively
assuming Latin-1.
Return UTF-8 strings from Xeromyces API.

c0ed950657 had to remove uint and ulong from lib/types.h due to conflict with other library.
this snowballed into a massive search+destroy of the hodgepodge of
mostly equivalent types we had in use (int, uint, unsigned, unsigned
int, i32, u32, ulong, uintN).

it is more efficient to use 64-bit types in 64-bit mode, so the
preferred default is size_t (for anything remotely resembling a size or
index). tile coordinates are ssize_t to allow more efficient conversion
to/from floating point. flags are int because we almost never need more
than 15 distinct bits, bit test/set is not slower and int is fastest to
type. finally, some data that is pretty much directly passed to OpenGL
is now typed accordingly.

after several hours, the code now requires fewer casts and less
guesswork.

other changes:
- unit and player IDs now have an "invalid id" constant in the
respective class to avoid casting and -1
- fix some endian/64-bit bugs in the map (un)packing. added a
convenience function to write/read a size_t.
- ia32: change CPUID interface to allow passing in ecx (required for
cache topology detection, which I need at work). remove some unneeded
functions from asm, replace with intrinsics where possible.

e2eb5b2610 part4: adapt codebase to changes in lib/
mostly straightforward except for CVSFile / Filesystem. moved the former
into the newly created latter component. removed VFSUtil entirely (that
functionality is available from lib/file/file_system_util.h)

Xeromyces.cpp: simplify buffer handling since smart pointers are now in
play. also use WriteBuffer instead of membuffer.

* Fixed some bugs with incorrect macro usage (SDL_BYTE_ORDER vs
SDL_BYTEORDER, {MSC,GCC}_VER vs {MSC,GCC}_VERSION, OS_WIN/OS_UNIX in
projects where they're not defined).
 * Removed some redundant declarations of g_Console.
 * Removed some unnecessary semicolons.
 * Removed some unused variables.
 * Added throw specification to operator new.

The issue was that the JSInterface_Console would attempt to write a
message on the console even after the g_Console object was deleted. Work
around this by:
1. resetting the g_Console pointer to 0 after deletion and
2. adding a null-pointer check

- no more X-macros => the above are now recognized by visual assist
- error codes are defined by the module originating them (lib_errors has
some generic ones)

- error descriptions are now in C++ files => can be changed without full
rebuild

5814e10126 # complete revamp of build system in preparation for automated self tests.
* now splits everything up into independent static libraries.
* fixed a great deal of incorrect #include statements. all headers must
now be specified with their full path relative to source. exception: if
file being included and including file are in the same directory, no
path needed.
use <> when relying on the build system's include path (e.g. for system
headers and external libraries, e.g. boost), otherwise "".

* temporarily renamed maths/Vector2D to Vector2D_Maths to avoid
conflict. these should be merged.
* hacked around VC linker stupidness when building static libs; texture
codecs must now be registered manually.

6fbce9c355 # refactoring
- color: the sse codepath is now detected and activated from within
color.cpp, which avoids making ia32 dependent on the color header. it's
called from gamesetup!InitRenderer.
- move VFSUtil::EnumDirEnts to vfs.cpp!vfs_dir_enum - allows it to be
used from within lib/ without dependency on ps (annoying for other
projects)
