help system Piers Cornwell <piers.cornwell@bigfoot.com> who has taken
the burden to continue this project Karin and Olof started.

The copy command allows you to make a copy of
the current selection, which is stored in memory. This copy can then be
recalled by using the <A href="paste.html">Paste</A>, <A
href="paste_into.html">Paste Into</A> and <A
href="paste_as_new.html">Paste As New</A> commands. If no selection is
made, Gimp copies the whole of the current layer.
