778d40f06c plug-ins: Do not call in-build-gimp.py before building plugins
We were already considering the plugins under /common but

plugin_executables did not match custom_plugin_targets and
the build started to fail on macOS where install_name_tool

02199755ab Issue #12277: GIMP 3.0 RC1 opens Windows Console.
This is a followup of previous commit. We must set the win_subsystem
option on executable() so that the result binary is compiled as a GUI
application (and doesn't output a console every time).

The previous commit is still needed and is what allows us to control
when to actually display a console.

3c56c90763 plug-ins: Use more of the GIMP-specific darktable API
In a28b1bad, we ported the darktable detection code to use their
new API for darktable 4.6.1. However, the image and thumbnail loading
code was not ported as it still worked fine in that version. This patch
continues the port by making the the image and thumbnail functions
use the new API if darktable 4.6+ is installed.

a28b1bad14 plug-ins: Update Darktable API check
Darktable 4.6 updated the version output format to conform
to standards. This broke the regex check that GIMP uses to
test if Darktable is installed. The developers of Darktable
have added a new --gimp flag for us to use for checking
support. This patch updates our check code to use this
API first, then fallback on the original regex code if a
version of Darktable before 4.6 is installed.

The DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH trick was working fine on CI, but not on local builds for

bf8ee69570 plug-ins: fix some broken macros with a massive search-and-replace.
If we leave a space between the macro name and opening parenthese for argument
lists, the args are not considered macro args (which will be discovered when

the specific GimpPlugIn subclass, so that we won't have a next time.

fa67a6ce0e libgimp, plug-ins: properly document the return values of GimpThumbnailProcedure.
The various information (width, height, image type and number of layers) are
those of the full image, not of the thumbnail. Make it clear in the docs of
GimpRunThumbnailFunc.

Additionally:

- file-xmc was returning the proper information but variables were wrongly
  named, which was confusing.
- Fix file-ico thumbnail proc which was returning the thumbnail width/height.
- In file-darktable, initialize width/height to 0 so that we just don't show any
size when we don't get the information. It's better not to show anything than
completely wrong information (the thumbnail target size).

4f1d0fb53b plug-ins: get rid of various gimp_image_set_file() calls.
- This is unneeded in all import procedures. See previous commit. Note though
that this is not because of a change in previous commit. This was already
useless previously. The file set with this PDB function was overridden by the
core anyway (i.e. even before the previous commits).
In app/file/file-import.c:file_import_image(), the imported file is correctly
set (so there is no need to set it from plug-in, which anyway libgimp's
gimp_image_set_file() was not doing) and the XCF file is reset to NULL
(rendering the call to gimp_image_set_file() in a GimpLoadProcedure useless).
- Similarly, this is a useless call in export procedures because
app/file/file-save.c:file_save() overrides such call too. I could only see one
such case for JPEG export, which was quite useless.
- Finally in other types of plug-ins, setting a non-XCF file extension was
interfering with the save feature (similarly to commit e6e73e14c7). I only
fixed the screenshot implementations doing such a thing.
- I left a few usages which will have to be looked at more in details later.

18c37f7084 plug-ins, libgimp: override set_i18n() for all our core plug-ins.
Hence avoiding the stderr messages. These are going to be localized with
centrally installed catalogs "gimp*-std-plugins", "gimp*-script-fu" and
"gimp*-python".

We now handle core plug-in localizations differently and in particular,
with kind of a reverse logic:

- We don't consider "gimp*-std-plugins" to be the default catalog
anymore. It made sense in the old world where we would consider the
core plug-ins to be the most important and numerous ones. But we want
to push a world where people are even more encouraged to develop their
own plug-ins. These won't use the standard catalog anymore (because
there are nearly no reasons that the strings are the same, it's only a
confusing logic). So let's explicitly set the standard catalogs with
DEFINE_STD_SET_I18N macro (which maps to a different catalog for
  script-fu plug-ins).
- Doing something similar for Python plug-ins which have again their own
  catalog.
- Getting rid of the INIT_I18N macro since now all the locale domain
binding is done automatically by libgimp when using the set_i18n()
  method infrastructure.

ef817dc452 plug-ins: fix Windows build in UCRT environment

52928e04a5 Issue #7327: Cannot build GIMP3 on MSYS2 using Meson.
This is untested on my side, because the bug only happens on native
builds with meson (our CI has cross-builds with meson and native builds
with autotools and I only do cross-builds locally) but I think/hope it
will work.

Basically we were using .full_path() because these rc files were also
used as input of some configure_file() calls which doesn't like custom
target objects as input (it wants strings or file objects). Yet a bug
in meson didn't like the colon used in native Windows full paths ('C:'
and such) when used in windows.compile_resources(). This has been fixed
by Luca Bacci in: https://github.com/mesonbuild/meson/pull/9368
Yet we just cannot depend on very early meson (or worse dev meson code).

On the other hand, if the input is a custom_tgt object, it uses the
object ID which we give as first parameter of custom_target() so we know
it's appropriately named without colons (such as 'gimp_plugins_rc').
Thus we should not bump into this issue again.

For the few usage in configure_file(), I just add a .full_path() only
when needed at call time.

Last but not least, I replace the bogus `meson --version` call by a
`python3 -c 'exit()'` as advised by Eli Schwartz:
2afa019c70 (note_1284951)

The reason is that it is apparently possible (or will be when some
reimplementation of meson will be done) that the `meson` executable
itself does not exist. On the other hand, `python3` should always be
there, as a mandatory dependency of the build tool.

In order to use an appropriate `python3`, I made the
pythonmod.find_installation() check required in our build (which should
not be a problem since it's a meson requirement as well), even when the
-Dpython option is false (this one depends on other requirements too
anyway, such as version and pygobject). This way I can call this meson
variable of discovered python in my bogus call, instead of calling a
(potentially different) python from PATH environment.

0832bbd771 plug-ins: replace s/printf/g_printf/
When cross-compiling, I got various linking errors for printf() calls:
> undefined reference to `libintl_printf'

I am unsure why, since this is not recent code, and it used to build
fine with mingw64 compilers (last I cross-built, which is many months
ago). Anyway g_printf() works fine, all necessary libs are already
linked, and it is supposed to be a synonym. So let's just go the easy
way and use g_printf() only.

I am going to forbid plug-ins from being installed directly in the root
